Ducktail Run -- 2,980 entries and 59 were members of the 9th Street Gang!

Jerry Hendey was kind enough to take notes at O'Reillys Friday evening.

The following members were present:

We had a real nice evening & the Hot Dogs & Chili were very good. I think everyone had a good time. We thank O'Reilly's for the show. They said they were going to do it every year.

Rod & Karol, Danny Tabor and Phil & Brenda went to Sheridan Saturday

for the Harvest Moon Car Show and Festival.  We all received trophies.

 

Today Earl Galbreath was the only 9th Streeter to attend the Car Show at

Pendleton.  He won the Mini Truck Class and said it was a good show but

(4th Street). Go straight at stoplight at
Nebraska

, go one block, turn South (right) onto Gallatin

, go one block, Senior Center is permastone
building on the left. Park on the street or turn left
down the alley and park in the handicap area on the
East side of the building or park in the lot on the
right side of
Gallatin Street and the alley. Jerry
will have the rear door unlocked by the handicap
parking area.
 
Sorry about the confusion with the time change. The
Ducktail dinner is at
1pm on the 14th. I will be at
the
Senior Center at 2pm in case someone does not see
the time change, but please contact fellow members and
let them know.

Since 2007 is mostly history, Art will be collecting

week while we were out of state.
 
Thanks to Jerry Allgood for the Huntington Big Daddy
report. It was a long show but some 9th Streeters
endured including: Rod Beeman, *Steve Estep, Larry
Snider, *Butch Randolph, *Tom Rigle, Dave Runion,
*Jerry Allgood and Ron Roehr.
 
Thanks to Rusty for the
Portland info. *Rusty & *JD
represented the
9th Street Gang.
 
Thanks to Art for the Alexandria Eagles update. There
were 72 entries including: *Sponsor-Butch, *JD, *Gary
& Betty, *Sponser-P-Nut & Linda, *Rusty, *Sponsor-Earl
Savage, Mike & Dianna, *Sponsor-Louis & Judy,
**Specialty & Eagles Choice-Sally and Art (who sold
both of his cars at Ducktail!).

Good Evening, gangsters,

Better get this out---it is time for another report.

Has just been a busy week. I do not like remodeling,

already.

 

Thank you to Rusty, Earl, P-Nut, Judy and Kory for

keeping us informed about what is happening at the

shows. Racers Edge had over 100 entries including:

*Rusty, *Jerry & Connie, *JD, *Earl Galbreath, *Mandi

and *Adam. 

Rochester had about 380 including Steve & Kory, *Butch

& Susie and *Tom & Daphne. 

Elwood Fire Department had 38 including 9th

Streeters:**Best Truck--Louis & Judy, **Best

Ford--Earl Savage, P-Nut, Ron & Marilyn, Rod Beeman

and Gary & Betty.

 

At the Ed Roth show, Rod Beeman also won Best Model

Display Sat & Sun and Best of Show. Kaitlin & Brooke

won Best of Show & First Place with their Pinewood

Derbys. 

 

Congratulations to all!!

October 14, 2007 Minutes

 

9th Street Gang minutes of Oct 14, 2007
Meeting

 

President Leroy Johns called the meeting to order
at
4:30 PM in the Senior Citizens Center

 

 Art gave the Treasurers Report which was accepted
as read.

 

Jack gave the Minutes of the Jan 6, 2007 meeting
which was accepted as read.

 

 Leroy asked for volunteers for a Membership
Committee to set rules for the Special Interest cars wanting to become members.
See any officer.

 

Jerry gave a Show Committee report. We had 346 cars
of which 22 did not pay. Because of this we will now collect entry fees at the
gate. We had 36 vendors. Money donated to the Park will be used to enhance and
help solve problems for the 2008 show.We donated $600 to the Park Board and
$6000 to the
Senior Citizens Center.

 

Phil gave a Benefits Committee report. They
suggested 7 possible charities to donate to for the 2008 show. They were: A
cancer family or patient as recommended by Giliad, Hands of Hope, Grant County
Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity, St Martin De Porres, the Humane Society
and the Senior Citizens Center.

 

Bob suggested that we give the money, less the Park
to one charity. Anna Marie made a motion to give all the money, less Park to one
charity. The motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote.

 

Phil suggested that we rotate thru the
list.

 

Rusty made a motion to leave as is for 2008. The
motion was seconded and passed on a secret vote.

 

We have 73 members

 

Leroy showed a color drawing for the Shirts for
next year.

 

Leroy asked for nomination for Officers for 2008.
None were given. Leroy has advised that he will not be President in
2008.

 

Art asked what we are going to do with the
left over $590- subject to correction. A suggestion was made to purchase a
Club canopy however, a decision will be made at a future meeting.

 

Leroy asked if we are interested in a Mall Show
next year. No decision was reached.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 5:42 PM
