Hello, Jerry Hendey here, I'm doing this because AJ and Brenda are out of town. The only show I know some are going too is Rossville on Saturday. Rusty and Glee are leaving Sweetser at 8:00 am and going south on 13 to Point Isabel then turn west on St Rd 26 at about 8:15 to Rossville. If any one is going some where else let me know and I will get it on an e-mail list. For everyone that was not at Long Johns last night Leroy asked us if we would like to start going to O'Riley's Auto Parts on Wednesday. The ones that were there took a vote and it looks like we will meet at O'Riley's next Wednesday instead of Long Johns. They are going to buy all of our awards and dash plaques for our show next year. They are on the Bypass across from The Mall.  If you have any questions you can call Leroy or Anna Marie next Monday, They will be home on Sunday sometime. See you latter

Hello, I received an invitation from IWU for Sept 8Th to be part of
there bicycle race at the Charles Mill Dam on the west side. This may be a
way to let them know who we are. They have not been part of our show
even tho we have asked. They would like to have about 15 cars to be on
display during there festival. If you would like to be part of this let
me know as soon as possible so I can tell them we will and how many.
Thanks   Jerry Hendey

August 27, 2007

Hello,
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Last Wednesday evening at LJS, Leroy relayed a message
from O'Reilly (spelling?) Auto Parts. They have
offered to provide the awards for
Kroozin Matter Park,
give all club members a discount on auto parts at any
O'Reilly store, maybe have a cookout about once a
month and we can meet in their parking lot. Yes, they
do have public restrooms. The majority of those at
LJS voted to give it a try, especially since we have
not had a strong welcome from the Marion LJS and there
would be more parking. So bring your dinner or just
plan on visiting at O'Reilly on Wednesday evening.

In an email Jerry mentioned an invitation from IWU to
their bicycle race on Sept 8. Here are some details.

AJ, We will park between Highland Ave & Wharton on
River Road that will be closed off. Yes there will
be vender's there. The race will be 11/2 miles long
but we will be away from the bicycles as they turn
on Wharton. It starts at
11:00 am till 5:30 pm. He
said it is to be a world class bicycle race. Since I
W U called me I thought it might be a way in for us
and maybe next year they will return the favor. I
hope! There will be no awards or judging, Just
display only, But if any of our club would like to
just spend a relaxing afternoon and watch the race

it might be fun. Jerry

Artie provided some results from the weekend. Markle
had 76 entries including *Art, *Sally, *Jerry &
Connie, *Lee Holloway, *Larry & Linda and Earl.
Congratulations!!

Frog Follies had 3678 entries and lost 10# of dirt
from the fairgrounds. 9th Streeters carrying away the
dirt were: Rod & Karol, Phil & Brenda, Eric & Sanna,
Louis & Judy, Bob & Sharon, Wayne, Charlie & Diane,
Denny & Diana, Jerry & Marilyn and Leroy & AJ.
Charlie & Diane won a nice door prize and entered the
1932 75th Anniversary Corral. Most of the girls found
some bargains at the mall and Women's World. Bob
finally got the trunk closed after repacking 10
times!! and hiring
Wayne to haul the seat and parking
meter home. It is a gooooood thing that
Nancy did not
come!!! Louisville Street Rods won club participation
again with 29. Next year, Judy wants to go to the Log
Inn for chicken livers. I wonder who ate the most ice
cream???

Maybe I had better quit while I am ahead!! and before
Yahoo knocks me off again. I tricked them last time
and saved it before reconnecting.
Later,
Leroy & AJ
